Bismillaahir Rahmaanir RaheemAllahu laaa ilaaha illaa huwal haiyul qai-yoom; laa taakhuzuhoo sinatunw wa laa nawm; lahoo maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ard; man zallazee yashfa’u indahooo illaa be iznih; ya’lamu maa baina aideehim wa maa khalfahum; wa laa yuheetoona beshai ‘immin ‘ilmihee illa be maa shaaaa; wasi’a kursiyyuhus samaa waati wal arda wa la ya’ooduho hifzuhumaa; wa huwal aliyyul ‘azeem

اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاو ;َاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

 English Translation of Ayatul Kursi 

“Allah! There is no god but He – the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth What (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory).”

Importance And Benefits Of Reciting Ayatul Kursi

Ayat al-Kursi is the 255th verse of Surah al-Baqarah (the longest surah in the Quran). This verse is regarded as the best verse of the holy Quran, and a hadith also supports that view. The Prophet (PBUH) questioned Abu Mundhir, one of his companions, regarding the greatest verse in the Quran. Ayat al-Kursi began to be recited by the companion. Muhammad (PBUH) gave a positive response. This Hadith is one of the reliable narrations in Sahih Muslim.

This verse is among the best verses of the holy Quan, as it describes the ultimate superiority of the Almighty Allah. It shows us how we cannot compare anything or anyone with Him. He created all things that exist apart from Him. Ayat al-Kursi is one of the most famous verses in the holy Quran. Because of its easiness, significance, and advantages, it is typically one of the first verses kids and beginners learn and memorize when they start reading and reciting the Quran Majeed.

  • The Prophet (PBUH) stated that if a person recited Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory salah, he would go to Paradise immediately if he died.
  • In another Hadith, the Prophet (PBUH) stated that if a person recites Ayat al-Kursi after salah, Allah protects him until the next salah.
  • Abu Huraira stated in a Hadith that Ayat al-Kursi is the crest and the apex of the Quran.

Muslims frequently recite the Ayat al-Kursi because it is a powerful verse, especially before retiring to bed or embarking on a journey. They do it to get Allah’s protection and to protect themselves from evil. It is also used as a form of exorcism.

Importance of Ayat al Kursi

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every obligatory prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering Paradise.” 

[An-Nasa’i reported it, and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)

  • Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every obligatory prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering Paradise (An-Nasa’i reported it, and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih).
  • Satan (Shaitaan) leaves home where Ayatul Kursi is recited.
  •  If a person recites it once when going out of the home, Almighty Allah has a group of Angels to come and protect him/her. If recited twice, two groups of Angels are assigned to do this. If recited thrice, Allah tells the Angels not to worry as the Almighty himself takes care of the person.
  • Your children will be protected by reciting Ayat ul-Kursi.
  • You can prevent burglars from stealing your house by reciting this verse.
  • Frequent recitation of Ayatul Kursi will ease the death.
  • Reciting Ayatul Kursi and the Qul Suras protects a person against the evil eye.
